Payment Deadlines

  1. AED 1,000 non-refundable and non-transferable deposit paid to GFG to reserve your space on the trip
  2. AED 1,000 paid to GFG by April 15th
  3. AED 1,000 remaining challenge costs paid to GFG by May 27th 2022

Day 1 - Friday 8th July

Depart Dubai (DXB) 05:30

Arrive Tbilisi (TBS) 09:00

From Tbilisi airport, we will travel along the famous military highway and explore the Ananuri Castle Complex. From there we travel to Gudauri, a famous winter resort that is surrounded by great Caucasus mountain peaks.

In the afternoon, we will travel to Gveleti Waterfalls, which are located in the granite cliffs of Dariali gorge. We have a short 1-hour, 4km easy walk into the gorges.

Overnight at the guesthouse in Kazbegi.


Day 2 - Saturday 9th July

This day we explore the scenic beauty and majestic charm of the Juta Valley and Chaukhi mountainous massif. We will hike deep into the Greater Caucasus mountains whilst crossing rivers, wide open plateaus and lush mountains.

Hiking Distance 14km, starting elevation: 2100m, maximum elevation 3338m

Overnight at a guesthouse in Kazbegi.


Day 3 - Sunday 10th July

The hardest but the most beautiful part of the trip, today our final destination will be at Gergeti Glacier (3,200m).

First, we hike to the famous Gergeti Trinity church, which is located right below the summit of Mt Kazbegi and above the small town of Stepantsminda. The church was built in the XIV century and is a must-see in Georgia. After the church, we follow the mountain range and narrow gorges, passing the Sabertse pass and reaching the glacier.

This day offers a glistening mountain landscape with colliding glaciers, lush alpine meadows, roaring rivers and marvelous panorama views over the Great Caucasus mountains.

Day 4 - Monday 11th July

In the morning, we travel to Truso Valley which offers a unique experience. A vast area surrounded by the high mountains, fresh streams, a lake with geysers and abandoned houses are just some reasons why we visit this valley.

In the late afternoon we will travel to Tbilisi.

Day 5 - Tuesday 12th July

In the morning, we will do a short city tour in the old town of Tbilisi which gives visitors an introduction to Georgian culture and history. We visit the ancient neighborhoods of Tbilisi where you can explore the sulphur baths and narrow streets with beautiful 19th-century houses.

Depart for Tbilisi International Airport after the tour (approximately 12pm)

This challenge will support FACE for Children in Need, Egypt.

The funds raised for this challenge will support providing adequate support to 50-75 former street children staying in the FACE transitional home in the context of COVID-19 to remain protected and prepare their social reintegration.

About FACE for Children in Need is a Belgian NGO, founded in 2003 in Cairo, Egypt with the mission to assist and protect orphans, abandoned children, street children, their families and communities, regardless of race, culture or religion. This is achieved through two main Programs:

  1. The Abandoned Children Program is composed of three centers for orphans, abandoned children and children in need of protection, and of a family/Kafala team aiming at supporting children to prepare their placement into family care and at supporting national authorities to improve the legal and implementing system of Kafala.
  2. The Street Children Program is composed of an outreach team, a day drop-in center, a transitional home, a case management/reintegration team, an education team and a medical team.
